For Beginner to Committed Runners
I help runners of all abilities achieve their personal running goals with bespoke, safe, friendly and supportive group classes, runs and one to one training & coaching services.
You are unique and therefore each training approach & Training Plan is too.
I will work with you to improve you as a runner, increase your mental and physical resilience and reduce the risk of injury. I will challenge you, I will guide you to success using techniques developed as an accomplished marathoner, ultra runner and business leader on four continents and over fifteen years.
My ultimate aim is to understand you and bring out the best in you. I will help you achieve and surpass your personal running and health related objectives whether you are just starting out or are an experienced, committed runner who may have reached a plateau.
I am based in Warwickshire, UK. I started running in 2003 after many years as a full time working dad who travelled 200+ days a year with my corporate career.
I became a recreational cross-country mountain biker on the occasional weekend, and then, as a more effective way to lose weight I tried to get fit as a lone jogger. Since then, I have completed over 150 half marathons, 60 Marathons including 2 Majors in Berlin and Chicago (and 7 of those in 7 days), 17 Ultras and won a bronze medal at the Internationally renowned Comrades Up-Run (90km) held each year in South Africa. I won the Long Beach Marathon in California in 2018 and can regularly run an 18min 5k and 38min 10km. I am in love with Marathons. I am an active member of the UK Long Distance Walkers Association (LDWA) and help maintain trails and footpaths.
I am a passionate advocate of the role running has in improving mental health and physical well being. Running really has transformed my life on every level. My friends, clients and colleagues would describe me as 'friendly, kind, approachable' and 'very supportive' as both a Coach & Competitor. I am also a Midlands Masters Runner (MCAA) and Club Runner. I hold running club memberships with two Warwickshire based clubs, where my first claim is Kenilworth Runners, as well as, being a huge supporter of the International Parkrun movement.
I love the outdoors, mountains, exploring, travel, coffee and cake. I am a believer in the art of encouragement, genetic sports science, balanced nutrition and scheduled rest and the roles these all play in improving running outcomes. I am a post graduate in Marketing, and hold two University business degrees, one in Business Studies and one in European Business Administration both of which help me and my client's achieve adherence to Plans with structure, rigour and pre-agreed reward mechanisms.

GROUP RUN TRAINING & CLASSES
1. Join a scheduled Group Run, a Runner specific Strength Training or Event led by Ian but in the company of like-minded individuals
2. Learn new routes and skills, make new friends
3. Keep yourself accountable to hitting your running goals in a small group runners
4. Choose different distances and run types
5. Pay as you go or buy a Membership
PERSONAL RUN COACHING
1. Consult with Ian free of charge
2. Buy a one-off Training Plan as part of a Membership Level that suits you
3. Start your Personal Run Training Plan
4. Execute the Plan together or on your own
5. Achieve results with regular dedicated one to one coaching time for the duration of the Plan
6. Celebrate success and then redefine your goals and move to the next level!
Run Training Services
PERSONAL RUN COACHING:
Ian will listen and consult with you. He will craft a Personal Run Training Plan for you to include your target run and strength training sessions, hydration goals, nutritional reminders and sleep/rest objectives. Once your Plan commences, Ian will will help you manage adherence to the Plan accounting for any changes to your personal circumstances via a scheduled online check-in meeting. As part of your Plan, Ian will make himself available for contact with you via Direct Message/Email during business hours. A basic plan typically lasts 16-weeks and comprises a minimum four month commitment of approx. £59 GBP per month, per person.
GROUP RUN TRAINING & CLASSES:
Ian holds Group Run Classes & Events in Coventry, Kenilworth, Leamington Spa, Warwick & Stratford upon Avon. Attendance at these Group Runs & Classes is booked based on availability. Group Run & Class details are advertised to include: intended duration, pace/mile/km, running surface and time of day. All Group runs include a warm-up and warm-down. The focus is on fun and enjoyment. Many of the Group runs are held on trails & public parks in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. Shorter run events start at £7.50+VAT per run per person. Annual members are entitled to these sessions without fee.
